Mission and Objectives

The mission of the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs is to promote a positive climate for diversity and to ensure that the University has adequate policies and procedures in place to guard against and prohibit discrimination and/or harassment on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex(which includes sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression), religion, age, disability or veteran status.

The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs supports the University’s efforts to foster a diverse student body and workforce.

The Office works with University Administration, departments, and committees to ensure that University policies and programs comply with applicable nondiscrimination requirements; and provides an avenue whereby students and employees may address concerns regarding discrimination and/or harassment.

The University Compliance Officer serves as the Campus Coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
